I'm doing what Lisa does because what I have been doing recently (read: nothing) is not working for me, so here is my attempt at a weekly photo dump/ weekly blog.
The weather here has been lovely so we have been trying to keep the Ol' Tv off and have been doing some reading out on the porch. Miley loves it and Lola thinks it's novel especially if she can sneak into the planter dirt. Obviously I love any excuse to find a bit of sunshine and read in it.
You can also spot some of my vegetable in the pictures. They make me so happy!
JT and I went on a last minute date to NYC- thanks to our awesome friends the Rices for watching our kids!! Once again the weather was perfect and I had glorious plans to get up to the top of the rock before the sunset but it didn't work out ( they were super busy at the ticket place) and it turned out for the best! It was so beautiful and I just loved it. Jt and I laughed so much together that night, way more than we have in a long time and we just felt like regular people for a minute. I loved it. After we got down we were walking past Radio City Music hall where they were filming the performance finale for America's Got Talent. There were more people outside so I asked the Lady how you get tickets and she said "oh you just go across the street and wait in that line" WHAAAT!!! You better believe we sprinted across the street and got in line. Every so often they would get bundle of tickets and hand them out and we got closer and closer to the front... but it's a known fact that we have the WORST luck of all time so yeah they ran out of tickets when we were 2 people away. Just our Luck!! It was still fun though. We then walked to Carnegie Deli because it's famous and we had heard good things. We got Soup, Salad, and potato skins (none of the stuff they are famous for hahaha) Oh and cheesecake. It was all very delicious and huge portions, though a bit overpriced for a "deli". We then took our first NYC taxi (which took surprisingly longer to hail than expected) and asked the guy to get us to Penn Station as fast as possible since we were trying to catch and earlier train. It was just like in a movie and he seriously drove crazy- and fast! AND it was only 7.50... way way way worth it in my book. Definitely doing it again! And yes we made our train woooo.

She was SO SO SO excited and is Loving it! My friend Jennica did a great job teaching and I am a little nervous for my turn. Hopefully it goes well.
I can't believe how grown up this girl is, I definitely should post more of the funny stuff she says. She is SO smart. I think all mom's say it and I am glad I am one of them! Everyone in the world deserves at least one person who thinks they are the Cat's Pajamas. Here is a little more about her at age 3.75...
- She weighs 35 lbs which is a surprise because all last year she weighed 32lbs so this was unexpected to me.
- She dresses herself, can go to the bathroom completely un assisted- yaaaay, is pretty good at getting her shoes on but asks almost every time before she puts them on "is this the right foot"
- Has an amazing memory, I had her sit cross legged the other day and she said "oh I remember when you taught me to do this" and I said "I did? I don't remember, when did I teach you?" and she said oh at Disneyworld with Valerie and Henry (that was in January of 2012, for her second birthday... whaaaat!!!!)
- She loves love loves Tv and movies. The more I let her watch the more she begs me to watch so I really can't let her watch too often or its ALL I hear about. I also have noticed it affects her imaginative play, she rarely creates new scenarios for herself but takes ones out of tv shows and pretends to be one of the characters which isn't a big deal but I want her to be able to think without tv stemming her interest.
- She loves secret of the wings, cars, and mickey mouse club house.
- Can write her own name, Mom, Dad, Lola, Bee, and anything else if you help tell her the letters.
- She loves to ride her little trike and play outside
- has a super short fuse and gets frustrated really fast and makes lots of frustrated angry noises. we're working on that one
- Loves schedules, anything planned, and rules. She thrives on routines, I need to be better at this since she loves it so much. She has a chart of things to do every day and she loves checking things off it as well as going over pre-school rules, bed time rules, eating rules, etc
- She is so sweet and thinks all kids are her friends, and refers to them as such. One of the unfortunate things about NJ so far is that we have yet to find her a friend her age that is a girl or really many friends in general, It makes me feel so bad since basically its up to me to find her friends and I'm doing a miserable job- talk about mommy guilt. Oh well, I figure hopefully Lola will start talking more and be a bit more interactive and they can get to be really good friends while we are up here.
- Loves to have her hair long (aka not done at all) she loves it wild and curly and hates when I tuck it behind her ears
- says the funniest things like "lets do this thang, do this thang, do it"(something i say hahaha), calls NYC the Big Tomato,
- hates when we give her weird rhyming nicknames, like cookie mookie or something
- loves to eat PB and Honey, anything sweet except smores, cereal, and cherry tomatoes, and dip anything in Ranch dressing.
- loves princesses, and has just started playing mommy and baby with Lola or whoever else she decides is involved
- says awesome prayers and loves to read the scripture stories and watch the videos
- loves to sing- especially some childrens church songs- I am a child of God, I love to see the temple, and Familes can be together forever
- We were at a baptism for our church and they sang Families can be together and she was belting it out (and she doesnt really sing in tune or with note changes really hahaha) and she was by far the loudest person singing, it was very adorable and everyone was laughing.
- loves to get multiple drinks of water at bed time and ask for cuddles
- gets up first every morning and usually wakes up Lola to keep her company (around 6:30 arggg) but is getting better about leaving Lo alone.
- wishes she could wear a twirly dress every day.
- says "renember" and asks for us to roll up her window (when she actually means down) and calls the sun roof the "sun re-ply-zer", loves the phrase "take a chill pill" and will often tell herself to take a chill pill when she starts to freak out and then will come and inform me "oh mom I just took a chill pill". I also recently taught her the cliche "thats just the way the cookie crumbles" and she loves it and tries to use and and tried to convince me to change it to "that's just how the cookie works" hahaha I told her that it wasn't up to me to change a cliche and that she can say whatever she wants but that people won't understand what she means.
- she loves to sing just as she goes about daily life and make up new words and dances.
- knows most letter sounds and is starting to sound out some words. Loves to read her Bob books and has memorized the first few
- has the MOST beautiful eyes and little face. I love love love her so much. I can't remember where I heard this but they compared how much you love your child to looking at the sun and how it hurts. I feel thats true- I love her so much it hurts!
