Preface for JT:
Right before JT left for his mission his parents moved up to my neck of the woods from Las Vegas. He got home from his mission around June 15th, and basically knew... no one. To top things off a majority of all his clothes and stuff had some how gotten misplaced or given away when they moved. He had NO clothes hahahaha, seriously like 3 outfits he rotated through since he wasn't too keen on shopping. It was a rough awakening back to the real world. Interesting fact: I had actually seen a picture of his brother Shaun in a marriage announcement the year before when Shaun was getting married to another girl from our stake- crazy! JT wasn't exactly sure what he wanted to do yet and figured he would apply to some colleges in the near future, odds were good that he was going to move back to Las vegas to be closer to all of his friends from growing up. He got a job with wells Fargo to start saving some money and didn't really go through the awkward returned missionary phase which was great! He went on one date before we met that his brother set him up on... according to him it was more like a hang out then a date. He really wanted to make some friends and was just barely starting to when I rolled into town...
Day 6: July 15, 2006
Saturday morning came bright and early. Janet convinced me to go with her to play soccer at the high school with all of the guys from the ward, apparently not many girls went so the ratios would be in our favor ha ha! Seeing as I knew we would be running around sweating in the sun, I didn't really get ready. I was quite a sight.
We got to the school and walked onto the field and were assigned to different teams so each team would have a girl. Consequently, the polo shirt boy from volleyball was on MY team! yahoooo! Not quite sure how we started talking, but sooner rather then later, I think there was more chatting going on then intense soccer playing. We laughed soo much and at one point I scored a goal off a sweet pass from JT, He gave me a congratulatory pat on the head HA HA still makes me laugh to this day because YES it was completely as awkward as you are imagining it. JT claims he was just looking for a way to "break the touch barrier" so props to him for that ha ha ha. Then we all took a water break.
Side bar with Janet: I basically said "I think JT is sooo cool, how can I hang out with him? What should I do? Help me think of something FAST!" We quickly came up with a plan to invite everyone to go to a drive-in type movie thing to see batman maybe?? for that night. We felt it was solid and I was sure JT would want to come with us.
After we all finished playing JT was by the drinking fountain with some other weirdish guys, so I finally just blurted out the plan and said "You should all come with us to blah blah blah" I can't exactly recall but somehow JT declined the invite ( He says that he thought I was just being nice inviting him and that he would just be tagging along) All the other weird people said YES though!! ACK talk about you're all time backfire! I was unhappy to say the least and managed to somehow cancel the whole thing since JT hadn't agreed to come Ha ha! I started to think maybe he wasn't interested in me.
To be continued...
