I'm whining.

This is me whining. I'm sad that my labor is pretty much turning out NOTHING like what I had planned. so here is what is currently going on.

I am in the hospital blogging... yup blogging.

This morning I went for a non-stress test. While hooked up to the monitors I had one measley contraction, however during that contraction baby's heart rate went down when it should have been up causing a little suspicion. The doctor on call notified my doctor and together they decided that since I am over-due, baby didn't move too normally on sunday, and then with the test today they decided that we needed to get the ball rolling.

Problem. Only dilated 1 cm MAYBE. Not really effaced. HOW will this baby come out.

So they say they will do cervix ripening for 12 hours with some meds then start some pitocin and hopefully baby will be born tomorrow.

We arrived here at 3 pm and found out that I would be having a catheter dilation- basically waterballoons on both sides of my cervix. HOLY COW. getting that thing put in hurt like a beast, I don't understand medical people- they say "you are going to feel some pressure" pressure =pain. They should just say this is going to hurt and get it out there.

As soon as the catheter is in I immeadiately start having contractions and back pain. bah humbug. Ask the nurse she says its normal and that I will have 12 hours of heavy menstrual like cramps... yay. So I get 12 hours of cramping followed by whatever REAL labor is. sounds fun huh? Atleast with the physical dilator thing they let me eat. yummy. so yeah I am halfway done with my ripening! Yahooooo I hope it is working. So yes I am a little sad I didn't get the whole "is this labor? Oooh my water broke experience" but I am glad that I'm on my way to being done and meeting this little girl. We will keep you all posted.

If it makes you feel any better... and I am actually pretty sure it won't, I never had a single contraction or any progress whatsoever before they decided a c-section was the way to go. Lame, right. Catheter dilators sound intense! Good luck! The baby will be there so soon and it will all be so worth it!

Yeah, that does not sound delightful at all! I hope that you and baby are doing well. It will be fun to hear the announcement that Baby Meng is here. :)

Wow, I'm sorry. That is very sucky. Can they not give you any pain meds for these cramp things? Or are you going all natural?? At least you're halfway done with them! Good luck! Can't wait to see what she looks like!

I understand some of that... I was also induced for medical reasons (high blood pressure) and was something like a "maybe 2" and "thick." Yeah. 12 hours of ripening, baby. I feel ya.

I hope everything works out well, and that she makes her journey safely. You'll get through it! Thank heaven for modern medicine, that's all I have to say! Good luck!
