attention moms!!!
Alright the time has come- one of the last things on my to do list is to buy nursing bras... I need some input! What do you look for? what is most comfortable? Brands- stores- etc? Any and all suggestions are welcome!
Ohhh. That is a tough one. Nursing bras are the worst. I eventually gave up on them and switched to a regular one. Not very comfortable for nursing, but I opted to not have saggy boobs 24/7. I would definitely recommend a sleeping bra (I think thats what they are called) you can get them at motherhood maternity for like $10 I think. However, I think I would have died without nursing Gs. Good luck with nursing! Its not nearly as scary as people make you think!
I just got some at Motherhood Maternity, and don't use nursing Gs, I just use the round neck ones and pull them down (I am also not huge). Make sure you get some Lansinoh Lanolin! That stuff will make you feel much better...check out Motherhood Maternity.
Ugh, nursing bras. I just got a cheap one from target that was fine. Heather is right though... saggy boobs just aren't as cute. But whatever. I didn't do the nursing Gs either (my boobs aren't big enough for them... haha). I got the tall t-shirt ones that have no lines. Do you know what I'm talking about? I just pulled them down. Also, get the Lansinoh nursing pads. Literally the best things in the WORLD. I don't know what I would have done without them. I guess I just would have had to change my shirt 8 times a day. Not an exaggeration. Also, I hope you have or are getting a boppy. Another thing that saved me :)
I just bought really comfy sports bras. I only wear my nursing bras when I know I'm going out...lol. Nursing bras is basically saying, I'm wearing something other than jeans and a tee. You can wear any type of bra you want, I just suggest always plan on wearing a skirt and top to church so you can just easily lift up your shirt to nurse. I thought my boobs looked fine just in a sports bra, but when my sister was here over Christmas break, she informed me that my boobs are not in the right place and that they look like a uni-boob and saggy. ummm...I just ordered a Platex nursing bra on-line. I'll let ya know how it is. PS my boobs increased one whole cup size. shoot me.
I'll just say this: DON'T GO SHOPPING FOR ONE WHEN YOU'RE HAVING CONTRACTIONS. All judgement goes out the window and you'll end up with something you don't like. Learned that with Megan. humph.
kali!!! ahhh your baby is coming so soon! i am sooo excited for you!!! ok and i learned 8 million things about nursing, so i am so here for you if you need anything because i was seriously clueless. but my absolute favorite nursing bras are from TARGET! they are all Gilligan and Omalley brand...i get the comfy soft ones for sleeping, they are like sports bras but softer and more comfy; and the padded non-underwire blue polka dots for when i go out in public. :) they are padded and are very cute- no sag! so GO GO GO to target!!!! good luck!!
ps. the padded ones come in white too (not just polka dots), haha, just so you aren't ONLY looking for polka dots. they are awesome. and cheap, so you don't feel bad if they get ruined or whatever. ok the end. love ya!

get the kind without underwire. Babies R us has some for 20 dollars that are great and I've heard great things about the online brand "bravado."

I had some Playtex ones that I loved, but it appears they don't exist anymore (they were from Mervyns, bummer) but definitely don't get underwire

This is a good one: http://www.quiltersbuzz.com/uploads/monkey%20biz%20bra.jpg
I've been wearing nursing bras since the war, even though I've never had my own kid. You never know when a child will need a suckle.
