TWo weeks

Sometimes I have so much I want to write and the thought of even doing it is so overwhelming. so I will just do what I can.

Lola has been here for two weeks. It has been pretty lovely overall. I will be getting to the blog of her arrival eventually.

A little bit about her
- You will notice that she is asleep in lots of these pictures. Girlfriend likes to sleep. A lot. Like I have to wake her up to feed her. I LOVE it. So different than Miley. I am so lucky. I am guessing it is a phase and will end soon so I am trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
- Sometimes I can get her to smile by tickling her cheek when she is asleep
- Still exclusively breastfeeding... she isn't the best at latching on so I am WAY more sore than I ever was with Miley
- Goes through diapers like CRAZY. its been two weeks and we have already gone through 3 BIG packs of diapers like close to 100 diapers or something insane like that. She already has had her first bout of diaper rash- so sad
- It appears the only thing she cares about is eating. Wants to be eating if she is awake basically and nurses until she falls back to sleep again.
- doesn't do a sad cry. Just screams. horrible screams.
-likes to cuddle
- is spitting up like cray cray. I think her stomach hurts, she swallows tons of air while nursing and when I burp her she ends up spitting up tons of what I just fed her. I am to the point where I burp her every 3 or 4 minutes in hopes she will puke less and stay fuller longer.
- Is just so sweet.
- Her umbilical cord fell off this last week- so much faster then Miley's!
-Miley loves her but isn't tooo interested in doing much with her but is slowly starting to pay more attention to her. She loves to give her a pacifier and always wants me to translate what Lola is saying example

Miley: " Mom she is saying Nah nah nah nah- what does that mean"
Me: " I don't know, lets start trying things to see what makes her stop" Repeat again every time Lola makes a new noise.

- I weighed her sort of at my drs today and I think she is weighing around 8.5 lbs.
-I am feeling pretty good, I definitely notice that I have some mood swings and it sucks because there's not much I can do about it. I made the realization this time that if you have a pretty normal delivery with no stitches or anything you probably feel pretty good after like 3 days... I had some stitches so its been taking awhile to feel better. I am not looking forward to all the restrictions my dr suggested like no exercise or swimming etc. til six weeks. I am ready to get back into shape and back to the beach and pool- florida sucks if you have to stay dry.
- I am loving having no belly. I feel so much more like myself and SO much skinnier- I honestly had forgotten what it felt like not to be Large and in charge

cuddles with dad
 Out for her first walk

The best way I can describe her is "of course"- Of course she is here and of course she is our baby. I don't really feel like its been a huge transition or anything. It's just like of course she is our baby and we love her to pieces, she just fits. She is our peaceful girl (other then her feed me screams). It just makes sense adding her to our routine.

I can't believe its already been two weeks. it is FLYING by. make it slow down .

2 weeks already!? Crazy!!

Bummer about all the spit up. Any chance she could have some acid reflux or something?

I am so nervous to nurse this time around! I didn't have much help from nurses or other lactation consultants so I am determined to get a better handle on the latch and keeping my milk supply UP!

I caaaaan't wait to just get rid of this dang belly! I am so uncomfortable all the time and I know I will feel better and more like myself just not having the belly anymore. I didn't even think about not being able to swim after having the baby! Thankfully, she will be born in October, so we probably won't be going to the pool anymore anyways. But still! You guys live right on the coast!!

She's a cutie!!

Hi Meng family! Congrats on another beautiful baby girl. Kali, Your experience with Lola not latching well and having to burp a lot sounds a lot like my experience with my baby Katie... I searched and searched trying to figure out what was wrong- eventually I learned about tongue tie/upper lip tie and how it can impact breastfeeding. Babies can have hidden tongue tie that can affect their latch. By the time I figured all this out, Katie outgrew it shortly after and breastfeeding got so much better. Anyway, it might be worth looking at if you haven't heard of it, here's a link with lots info: http://kellymom.com/health/baby-health/bfhelp-tonguetie/

Sorry that was so long, just thought I'd pass the info in case it helps lead you to any solution!
