Hare Hare Krishna Krishna...

This past weekend we went to the Hare Krishna Holi celebreation aka festival of colors... it is a holiday to celebrate the defeat of some evil God who was burned in a fire... basically they have lots of performances then they light this fire and throw colored powder. It also commemorates spring as well i think.

Us all clean before it started with Janet and Jeff

There were tons of people there, this is after we were chalk-ified

Tons of bright fabulous colors! Welcome spring... too bad it snowed the next day

During the powder throwing!

I was a little disappointed in the crowd because most of them are probably LDS college students and they were being really disrespectful of someone elses culture, someone actually lit their fire before it was supposed to be lit and tons of people started throwing the colored chalk too early. Boo BYU people remember when you all got so outraged because HBO showed temple stuff... you guys need to respect other peoples cultures whether they are or aren't correct. Don't you wish the media showed us that same respect even though they don't believe in it?

How fun! I'm sorry we couldn't make it, but chores/shopping had to be done. Thanks for the invite though. And yeah, I totally agree with ya on the respect issue. :)
